So you’ve talked to many of the lodge owners and operators,
contacted local government tourism boards, discussed past trips with a fishing buddy
over a couple of cold drinks hearing once again about the one that got away only to
realize he has a particularly annoying bias for the same lodge he’s been going to for
the past 15 years. You’ve painstakingly surfed the net and after all that stealthy
investigation you feel your no further ahead then when you first started. I know what
it’s like, there’s a lot of stuffed fish out there, saying they are the best.
If you’ve picked up our newsletter at a sport show or if you’ve received one in the
mail, I understand it’s probably one of many in your pile of “Possibilities”, and at
this point your probably finding it hard to separate Reality from Salesmanship. The
others will talk to you about their newly appointed European Chef, their custom made
after dinner mints and their 54" beds. Make no mistake, this is a fishing trip your
trying to plan, what they won’t tell you is about the additional costs needed to
fly-out in order to get into trophy sized fish, the 2 hour boat ride necessary to get
to the “hot spots” or the shared space agreement they’ve made with the 4 other lodges
on the lake.
Others might neglect to tell you upfront about the “extras” that you may have missed
in their fine print. It’s not only costly but it’s discouraging and unfortunately many
anglers have learned this from their mistakes or more accurately by misrepresentation.
While others have got caught up in “Corporate Marketing” I have listened to our guests,
one at a time and one on one. I’ve added upgrades throughout the years, fine tuned
logistics and travel arrangements making easier and more convenient to reach our
remote location, but our philosophy has not swayed with the passing fads and faces of
the fishing world.
My philosophy is simple and it works, provide you with the best possible fishing trip
offered anywhere in the world. After all life is about compromise, fishing doesn’t
have to be. Oh yeah, one more thing, we have this years poloroid’s, pictures don’t
lie, the fisherman might, but the pictures don’t !! I hope to talk to you soon.
